When I have money, its nice to buy out a failing company, then open a branch somewhere that they can actually sell their cars (and mine), and then suddenly make money. I still haven't figured out how to make the most of this, but its fun and profitable all the same. Why do this? Because you don't get paid for closing down branches! Can be a real suprise if you absorbed another company then do this. Be careful, as you lose all the vehicles and components associated with it. Drat my factories and branches are caught in a country undergoing war! Rebrand them with a Marque and either sell the Marque outright, or maybe spin out the Marque its own company, then sell all the shares. I'm digging myself out of one save where I tried lots of that stuff, so obviously I shouldn't be giving advice on it. If an AI company buys your stock, they tend to keep it regardless of stock price, and stock price shennaigans can backfire. Buy low (less than 10), sell high (more than 10).ĮDIT: I removed all the fun about market manipulation of your own stock. They're the ones that are going to make money. I usually wait until the second month so that I can invest in a company with major market share (under one of the reports tabs). BUT, you have to design vehicles to improve on your vehicle design skills, so slap something together when you have the funds. On Hard, you'll still get plenty of time with licensed components. So on Ultra, any component will satisfy your 1 skill teams for quite a while. However, your design teams will learn just fine if you license components that have better overall quality than your design teams. On Ultra, there usually isn't enough money right away.ĮDIT: Many guides suggest researching components to improve design teams. On Hard, I might be able to then start researching components. Those vehicles you design yourself are more cost-effective, and you can control what type of vehicle(s) you get. I usually then proceed to purchase components so that I can design my own vehicles. ![]() You need to go the the Outsource Tab (at R&D) and purchase a license for a vehicle design right away, so that your factory can produce something to sell. Most important: DON'T rely on your own designs. Doesn't work out too well at the Ultra Start, since you can't design anything decent and you're hemorrhaging money. Suddenly the money coming in is hopefully significantly more per month than the money you borrowed. Use the factory to make money on making cars. Example: Use the bond money to finance a factory. Mathematically, bonds are something you do as you are growing, so that the money that you pay back isn't as valuable as the money you are getting. Also sign up for a Line of Credit.ĮDIT: After getting established I've started using Bonds to pay for Factories. You can borrow more before you need it, than after hemorrhaging money for months. I don’t want to compare this one to Film Studio Tycoon.Borrow money right away. This game made me fall in love with the genre. ![]() One of the first management games I ever played. This is the game that I play for nearly 20 years and it still gets monthly updates. Yes, you can get a mod with real brands, but it is still random. It is just I wish there would be real car companies with real models that you compete to. It could be my favorite management game because of its excellent economic simulation close to the real world. Ok, this is the more famous one and many people know it. Why do I love it? It is the most accurate simulation of one part of the real world! And you can start it in 1871 or in 2020 with all the data being accurate to details in relation to the baseball world! Imagine start playing Football Manager and having no clues of what football/soccer is and how to play it and who Cristiano Ronaldo is and what Manchester United is!īut trust me guys, the moment you overcome the fear of baseball and learn its rules, OOTP will be one of your favorite management games, if not the most! And according to many ratings, this game beats titles like Capitalism Lab and RimWorld, it is just not many people know it! It took me several months to learn rules of baseball from all kind of sources in order to even start the game. I couldn’t name a single famous baseball player or team. ![]() I discovered this game a year ago and I had no clues what baseball is and what are the rules of this game. No need to mention Film Studio Tycoon, we love it all! Together we might discover many great titles that we have never heard before and also give some clues to Admin of who his/her audience is and what we like! I guess only big fans of management games reach this place, so it would be great to know what are your favorite management games and a little description why you like it.
